The water pump delivers the water to the mixing pump on the construction site. PFT has various models in its range that are designed as suction or pressure booster pumps. Water can be pumped directly out of a barrel using the AV-series suction pumps. The pressure booster pumps of the AVP/AVO series are used when it is necessary to cover long distances on the construction site or to maintain the power pressure at over 2.5 bar on the machine. Depending on the model, PFT water pumps can be operated with direct or alternating current. The conveying pressure of the powerful pumps is up to 5.5 bar. A maximum conveying output of 3,000 l/h is possible. The total conveying height is up to 49 m, depending on the height difference to be overcome.

Water pump basics
Suction delivery height = suction lift
Describes the maximum bridgeable height difference between the water surface or water source and the pump.
For physical reasons it is limited to 8 m at sea level.
Total delivery height
Describes the possible delivery height from the water source to the highest point of the pipe and is calculated by reference to the pressure delivery height and the suction delivery height.
Conveying output = capacity
Describes the maximum quantity of water that can be delivered if the pump is positioned at the same level as the water source.
Conveying output and total delivery height are directly related and are the most important criteria in selecting the appropriate water pump.
In addition, friction losses in the pipe system have a further influence on the conveying output.
Line pressure = supply pressure
Describes the water pressure in the mains system.
This is very different and highly variable worldwide.
In Germany the mains pressure is approx. 3 bar.
Rule of thumb:
1 m water column ~ 0.1 bar.
This means that at 3 bar, a total delivery height of 30 m is achieved. However, friction losses again reduce this value.
Difference between suction pumps and pressure booster pumps
Pressure booster pumps are used to bridge long distances on construction sites, or to keep the mains pressure above 2.5 bar atthe machine.
Water can be pumped directly out of a barrel using a suction pump.
This is mainly used in areas with a poor water supply.
The following applies as a general rule:
The closer the water pump is to the water source, the longer the possible transport distance is.
AV 1000 standalone
- Ensure constant water supply to PFT machine technology.
- Use, for example, in combination with a water barrel or in case of pressure fluctuations in the water pipe.
- A flow pressure of at least 2.5 bar with the machine in operation on the construction side is guaranteed by means of suction from the water reservoir.
